Thank You!!!

Thanks everyone for all the encouraging words and the welcome to the new group. I hope I can be as strong and determined as all of you. Actions do speak louder than words and I think its time I comitted to something other than laziness. Bought a pedometer the other day and trying to atleast walk more than I did the days before. Probably would be a little easier if rob the destroyer would go a little easier on me :). Anyway thanks again and I will be talking to all of you tomorrow.

That's my job, Gary.

You wanted a ticker, so I need to find out your goals. Give me your starting weight, current weight and where you want to get to.

Also, I should have mentioned this before, but we should probably look at some mid-goals, smaller goals, and you and Patty should take a few pictures of you in the boxers, so you have something to compare to when you lose all the weight. Also, do something I never did and regret... take measurements.. your gut, arms, neck, waist..

See you at 5:30am.. 6 1/2 hours from now. Yikes.

No, you weren't talking to yourself. That was me, logged in your account instead of mine. Whoops.

"I hope I can be as strong and determined as all of you"

Take the "I hope" out of that statement.

In fact, take out the "try", "hope", "want", "should", "wish", and "can't" out of your vocabulary all together.

One thing I've learned in this process, as well as when I quit smoking, is that you have to really understand that this is all within your control. People who say "I'm trying to quit smoking" will relapse. Those who say "I've quit" won't.

I'm sure you've realized I tend to be the drill sergeant sometimes- I just want you to get started off on the right foot. It's really ALL about having the right mindset.

You CAN and WILL do this. ;)

Welcome, Gary! Being a part of the coalition is a huge motivation-booster, especially when you need it most. Best of luck in your journey! I look forward to following along and being a cheerleader! :)

I was just logging on to put a ticker on, but it seems you've figured it out. Very cool.
